Unfortunately, we hear this from too many people and we feel it needs to change, because eating disorders are not just about food and weight. Your thoughts and behaviours surrounding food and body image are a way of trying to cope with difficult experiences and express your feelings.
A disordered relationship with food impacts all aspects of your self and your life. As such, we believe that therapeutic treatment needs to address all of you: mind, body and spirit. Fundamentally, recovery is a process of empowered self-discovery.

Led by Founder and Clinical Director, Jenna Daku, Freedom To Be Therapy offers integrative and holistic therapy and Intuitive Eating Counselling for folks struggling with Disordered Eating.
We implement a range therapeutic methods to support you on your journey of self-development and growth by offering you a relational
and collaborative approach to therapy. Our aim is to empower you to grow towards becoming the best possible version of yourself. Our practice is aligned with Health at Every Size® (HAES) and non-diet approaches to wellbeing. We offer a safe space for folks of all shapes and sizes, free from the anti-fat bias that saturates the world. As therapists, we are invested in anti-racism and social justice, and we provide trauma-informed support.
We specialise in disordered eating recovery, integrating mindfulness, CBT, DBT, ACT, creative, and relational interventions tailored specifically to you and your needs. Any form of disordered eating - from chronic dieting to clinical eating disorders - has the potential to significantly impact your relationship with food and your body. Disordered eating can also affect how you see your self, others, and the world around you. Together, we can rediscover who you really are beneath your current struggles with food and your body, so you can regain a sense of equilibrium and start living your life to the fullest.
We offer 1:1 therapy online, Intuitive Eating Counselling, workshops, and support groups for folks who are struggling with disordered eating. In addition to this, we also provide support and education for caregivers and loved ones of individuals who are struggling with disordered eating. Taking care of yourself and finding ways to nourish and replenish your inner resources is crucial when you're supporting others.

It can feel intimidating to reach out to a stranger for support, but we hope to make the process as comfortable as possible. When filling out the form, it's helpful if you can tell us what brings you to therapy at this point in your life and whether you're interested in Eating Disorder Therapy, Workshops or Group Therapy. Otherwise feel free to share as much or as little as you feel comfortable telling us about yourself and your concerns.
Your information will be sent to Jenna, our Clinical Director, who will strive to reply within 48 hrs - excluding weekends. From there, we can arrange for an initial consultation with one of our therapists.
